Make Way for Writing: The Family Writing Project

Presented by: The Eastern Michigan Writing Project

When: Thursdays (10/19, 10/26, 11/2, 11/16) from 4:15-6:15pm

Where: Bryant Media Center at Bryant Elementary School

Light Snack: 4:15pm

Workshop: 4:45-6:15pm

Please join us as we gather together as families to experience the joy of sharing and writing stories about favorite play places.  All families are welcome, but English Learner (EL) students and their families are especially invited to attend and write in their native language.  We hope to provide original writings and translations in a book of writing created during the workshop series.  Each family will receive a copy.  Childcare will be provided for non-school aged children.

Families will meet on three different occasions to brainstorm, write, collaborate, revise, and edit their writing.  At the final and fourth session, family members will participate in a Celebration of Family Writing and learn practical tips about how to continue the family writing project at home.
